Morden Hall Wedding Photography | Jennifer & Abdoul-Karim
Now don’t get me wrong, I love all the regular visits throughout the year to my local Suffolk wedding venues, but every now and then it’s great to shoot somewhere new to keep the creative juices flowing. I was honoured at being asked to shoot Jennifer & Abdoul-Karim’s Morden Hall wedding photography this summer.
Jennifer came across my work when I shot her friends wedding at Bruisyard Hall a few years ago and contacted me after a recommendation from Kim, the bride. After 14 years of shooting weddings, it’s still more than a little humbling when this happens. Knowing that someone has appreciated my work enough to pass my details on means so much - ask any wedding photographer and they’ll tell you it’s the highest complement we can be paid.
Bringing together families from both Nigeria and Senegal, the day was full of vibrant, colourful and joyous celebration. Jennifer wore daytime and evening dresses, both of which were hand-beaded from top to bottom. The amount of work that had gone into making these was mind boggling and the looked incredible in the summer sunshine.
With a history dating back to the 16th century, the Morden Hall Estate is a real gem and in its current form the Hall has been a wedding venue since 2015. Decorated in tasteful, neutral tones throughout (yet retaining many period features), it makes a brilliant setting for a wedding and the perfect canvas for you to bring your own style. There’s also plenty of parking on site, which may sound a bit of prosaic feature to mention, but for a London venue this is a real bonus and removes a whole heap of potential hassle from your day,
A big shout out to my fellow suppliers, the brilliant Ronke at Bliss Nuptuals, The Wedding Decorators, MUA extraordinaire Stacy Wodu, hairdresser Delc Ross and MC Stev0. All of whom were absolutely brilliant and I have no reservation in recommending!
